I was born in Van Nuys, California and began seriously pursuing music at Notre Dame High School as a bassoonist, vocalist and drum major.  I also spent my spare time singing in various rock and rhythm & blues projects, as well as musical theatre.

I continued my training in the voice and choral programs at Cal State University Northridge (Bachelor of Music) and Southern Methodist University (Master of Music) under such renowned teachers Thomas Hayward, John Alexander and David Scott.  I also was fortunate enough to receive additional vocal training with Dr. Dean Verhines and occasional coachings with Seth Riggs.

While pursuing my doctorate at The University of Texas at Austin (DMA '04), I was able to pursue my next chapter in my career as a stage and music director.  I have been fortunate enough to work with organizations such as Austin Lyric Opera, the State Theatre, Austin Playhouse, Austin Shakespeare, Austin Playhouse, St. Stephen's School and Austin Musical Theatre that encouraged me in my pursuits in these areas.
